Hagerstown, MD - The Delmarva Shorebirds scored eight runs in the final two innings to defeat the Hagerstown Suns in game one, 8-6, and dropped game two of the doubleheader 7-2 on Saturday night at Municipal Stadium.

In game one, the Suns sprinted to an early lead in the second. Four hits including a double by Brian Goodwin to deep center field produced three runs.

The Suns added three more runs in the fourth to build a 6-0 lead. Jason Martinson capped the inning with a two-run single through the left side of the infield.

The Shorebirds recorded just two hits over the first five innings. In the sixth, the Shorebirds exploded for five runs to cut the deficit to 6-5. In game two, the Shorebirds went down 5-0 after three innings.

Their lone runs came in the seventh on a two-run homer to right field by Connor Narron, his fourth of the season. Wynston Sawyer reached on a double to the wall in right-center field.
