The Crawdads tied the game after two on the strength of two home runs. West Virginia jumped back in front with a two-run third, but Hickory responded in the fifth with four runs to take the lead for good. Nick Kingham took the loss after allowing a season-high six runs, all earned, on seven hits. Five Power players had multi-hit games, but the offense could not overcome four Hickory home runs.

SCORING BREAKDOWN: West Virginia has allowed 106 more than it has scored so far this season. The Power have plated 248 runs this year (4.5 runs per game). The club's best inning for runs had been the fifth (42) while the eighth has seen the fewest (18). Comparatively, West Virginia has allowed 354 runs over 55 games (6.4 per game). Teams have been the most productive against the Power in the third inning (55 runs allowed) and the least productive in the fourth inning (31 runs allowed).

ALL-STAR ANNOUNCEMENT: The South Atlantic League will announce the 2012 All-Star Game rosters on Tuesday, July 5. The contest will be played a Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park in Charleston, South Carolina on June 19.

GRAB THE STEAMPOT: The Power are 45-34 all-time against the Crawdads dating back to 2005 and have an 18-21 record on the road during the series.

GOODBYE MAY: After going 8-16 in April, West Virginia finished the month of May with a 10-20 record over 30 games. The club hit .279 in April but saw the average drop to .258 due to a .240 clip during the month of May. TRENDING SOUTH: The Power are on pace to finish the first half with a 24-46 record. If that holds true, it would be the lowest winning percentage (.343) in any half of a season since the team moved to Appalachian Power Park in 2005. The '05 club went 25-45 in the first half (.357 winning percentage). The second lowest percentage after 70 games belongs to the 2009 Power during the first year as a Pirates affiliate (27-43 (.386)). No West Virginia team, however, has finished with fewer than 34 wins during the second half (the 2010 edition went 34-36 in the second half).

Taillon and Gerrit Cole were the only Bradenton Marauders selected to play in the FSL mid-summer classic... Nick Kingham allowed three home runs last night marking the third time this season a Power pitcher has surrendered three home runs in a single game...
