Tourists Deliver at Home Again; 12-10 over Augusta

Asheville Tourists News Release
In a game that featured seven run innings from both Asheville and Augusta, the Tourists held on late to beat Augusta 12-10. The victory improved Asheville's home record to 21-11 on the year and 39-17 overall.
The home team jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on Sam Mende's RBI single in the first, but Augusta tied it up with one in their half of the third.
In the bottom of the third, Asheville scored seven runs to take an 8-1 lead. Jared Simon clubbed a two-run homer and Taylor Featherston delivered a two-run single in the frame.
The GreenJackets answered back with seven runs of their own in the top of the fourth. The big blow came when Shawn Payne doubled home three.
Augusta jumped in front 9-8, but Asheville responded when Harold Riggins singled home Cleary Jr. in the sixth. The next batter, Tyler Massey, homered to put the T's up 11-9.
In the top of the ninth, the GreenJackets loaded the bases with one out, trailing by two. Jefri Hernandez induced a game ending double play off the bat of Jose Cuevas to secure the win.
The Tourists look to finish off the GreenJackets with a sweep on Sunday afternoon.
