
Shirek Promoted to AA

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (MAY 14, 2011) - RHP Charlie Shirek has been promoted from the Dash to AA Birmingham. There is no corresponding roster move at this time.
Shirek was in his second stint with the Dash and his first as a reliever after starting for the team in 2009. In ten games and 15.1 innings this season, he was 0-1 with a 7.04 ERA. He heads back to the Barons after spending much of 2009 there and nearly all of 2010.
The Dash's roster stands at 24 players, one below the Carolina League limit.
Tonight Winston-Salem looks for its seventh win in eight games as the team continues its series at Salem. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. from Salem Memorial Ballpark.
