Wisconsin Rapids, WI - A 10th inning RBI single by Jeremy Shay (Bowling Green) pushed Battle Creek to a 6-5 victory over the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.

The Bomber's offense started hot right away, scoring two runs in the first with an RBI single by Daniel Rockett and a sacrifice fly from Jeremy Shay. Chris Sujka (Indiana) added a solo home run in the second inning against Ben Heller to give Battle Creek a 3-0 lead.

Wisconsin Rapids responded in the bottom half of the second with three runs and four hits against Caleb Vincent to tie the game at 3. A fielder's choice by Aaron Gretz in the fourth inning brought home a run that broke the 3-3 tie.

In the top of the seventh inning Colin Willis tied the game again with an RBI single up the middle. One inning later, Daniel Rockett crushed yet another home runover the left field wall. The home run, Rockett's 9th of the season, gave the Bombers a 5-4 lead.

A bases loaded walk by Jordan Dreiling in the bottom of the 8th tied the game yet again, and Alex Tukey was brought into the game with the bases loaded and just one out. The All-Star closer needed just six pitches to strike out Brandon Hohl and Pat Kelly and escape the jam. Tukey threw a scoreless ninth as well to force the game into extra innings.

Jeremy Shay came up with 2 outs and Daniel Rockett on second base in a clutch moment. He rose up to the occasion, bringing in the eventual winning run with an RBI single into center field. Once the Bombers got the lead, Tukey threw another scoreless inning to earn the victory. He struck out six of the nine batters he faced; a performance that made him the Northwoods League Pitcher of the Night.
