Sharp Offense Fuels Mad Ants over BayHawks

FORT WAYNE, IN (February 6, 2015) - The Mad Ants, sponsored by Lutheran Health Network, came out victorious Friday night, 103-91 over the Erie BayHawks in front of a packed house at the Allen Co. War Memorial Coliseum.

The Mad Ants opened the game showcasing a new starting line with Simmons out due to an injury and newly acquired Mad Ant, Will Sheehey filling in for his starting role. With a quick start to the game and sharp shooting from the home team, the Mad Ants were able to steer the first 24 minutes of play in their favor as they found themselves with a 58-50 lead at the half way mark. Andre Emmett led the first half with 15 points, while Gary Talton had 10 points with 8 assists. Sheehey recorded 9 first half points with 4 rebounds.

The second half would continue to shift in Fort Wayne's favor. In front of a home crowd of 5,144 strong, the Mad Ants continued to dominate the offensive side of the ball, never surrendering a lead in the second half of play resulting in a 103-91 victory for the home team. Emmett would lead all scorers with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Talton recorded 17 points with 16 assists and CJ Fair registered 16 points and 6 rebounds in the win.

For the BayHawks, Seth Curry led with 20 points and John Bohannon recorded 13 points with 14 rebounds.

The Mad Ants will travel to Iowa tomorrow, Saturday, February 7th for an 8:00 p.m. tip-off with the Energy.
