Sharp & Bickel Reassigned To The Condors
March 29, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, have announced that C MacGregor Sharp and D Stu Bickel have been reassigned to the Condors by Anaheim from the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League. Additionally, F Jean-Marc Beaudoin has been signed to an Amateur Try-Out (ATO) contract.
Sharp, 24, began his rookie season with the Condors, recording 14 points (4g-10a) in 15 games. He then became the first non-goaltender in ECHL history to be recalled directly to the National Hockey League, getting the call from Anaheim on Nov. 18. The Red Deer, Alberta, native played eight games with the Ducks this season. He was then reassigned to the Rampage in the AHL, where he has appeared in 38 games, registering 17 points (8g-9a).
Bickel, 23, also started this season with the Condors, posting 12 points (1g-11a) in 22 games. He was reassigned to the Rampage on Dec. 9 and has not returned until now. At the time of his reassignment he ranked among ECHL defensemen scoring leaders in assists, points and plus/minus (+12). With San Antonio, the Chanhassen, Minnesota native has four points (2g-2a) and 38 penalty minutes in 36 games.
Both players are expected to be in the lineup on Tuesday night, when the Condors host the Stockton Thunder at 7 p.m. The Condors magic number to clinch a playoff spot is just one point, while their magic number to clinch the Pacific Division title is seven.
Beaudoin, 24, put together a strong four-year career at Quinnipiac, and wrapped up his senior season ranking third on the team in goals, assists and points. He twice reached double-digit goal totals and amassed 44g-57a-101pts in 149 collegiate contests.
