Rewind the Tape:
2.27.08 - Worcester 4 - Springfield 1 - DCU Center
Tom Cavanagh led the way with three power play points as the Worcester Sharks special teams units bounced back in a huge way, vaulting the Sharks to a 4-1 home ice victory over the Springfield Falcons on Wednesday night. Dimitri Patzold earned his fifth win by stopping 19 of 20 shots while Falcons netminder Jeff Deslauriers stopped 18 of 22 over the first two periods before being replaced by Devan Dubnyk.
2.29.08 - Worcester 2 -Manchester 1 - DCU Center
Behind 28 saves by Thomas Greiss and goals by Derek Joslin and Tom Cavanagh, the Worcester Sharks inched closer to the final Atlantic Division playoff spot with a thrilling 2-1 win over the Manchester Monarchs in front of 7,048 fans on Friday evening at the DCU Center. For Manchester, former UMass All-American Jonathan Quick, making his first professional appearance in the state of Massachusetts, made 15 saves on 17 shots.
3.01.08 - Worcester 2 - Albany 3 (SO)- Times Union Center
Despite holding a 2-0 lead after two periods, the Worcester Sharks fell to the Albany River Rats, 3-2, in a shootout on Saturday evening at the Times Union Center in Albany. All four regulations goals were scored on the power play. The Sharks had two goals on the man advantage within 11:38 to take a 2-0 lead before Albany stormed back with two power play tallies within a span of 6:48 in the third period to force overtime. The shootout went to sudden death tied at two before Jakub Petruzalek won it in round eight.
3.02.08 - Worcester 5 - Norfolk 4 - DCU Center
Following an intense, physical two game series in Virginia just two weeks ago, the Worcester Sharks expected that Sunday afternoon's contest against the Norfolk Admirals would be one to remember. Sharks forward Mike Iggulden certainly won't forget it anytime soon. Iggulden scored three goals and assisted on another while leading the Sharks to a 5-4 victory over Norfolk at the DCU Center.
