Sharks Slip Past B-Sens, 2-1

WORCESTER, M.A. - The Binghamton Senators dropped a road contest to the Worcester Sharks 2-1 at the DCU Center on Saturday night. Ryan Del Monte's unassisted goal with 4:13 remaining proved to be the game-winner.

The game was scoreless through the first two periods, but the offense woke up in the final frame.

At 9:01 of the third, Pat Cannone broke through with his sixth goal of the season to put the B-Sens up 1-0. Assists were credited to Mark Borowiecki and David Dziurzynski.

Minutes later, Worcester's Tommy Wingels tied things up at one with a power play goal, assisted by John McCarthy and Benn Ferriero.

With 4:13 remaining in regulation, Del Monte sent a loose puck into the Binghamton net for a 2-1 lead.

Mike McKenna stopped 33 of 35 shots for Binghamton while Tyson Sexsmith turned away 21 of 22 for Worcester.

The B-Sens travel to Hartford tomorrow to take on the Connecticut Whale at 3 p.m. Fans can listen live on "Binghamton's Classic Hits" BIG 107.5 (WBBI-FM) beginning 30 minutes before game time for Countdown to Faceoff with Grady Whittenburg, the voice of the B-Sens.
