Sharks Recall Rissmiller/Reassign Dimitrakos

SAN JOSE, CA - The San Jose Sharks announced today that the club has recalled center Patrick Rissmiller from the Cleveland Barons, the Sharks top development affiliate of the American Hockey League. In addition, right wing Niko Dimitrakos has been reassigned to Cleveland.

Rissmiller, signed by San Jose as a free agent on Sept. 30, 2002, currently leads all Barons scorers with 13 points (6-7=13) in 11 games and a +5 plus/minus rating and is tied for 11th among all AHL scorers. Playing in his second season of professional hockey following four seasons at Holy Cross, Rissmiller will be making his debut on an NHL roster. He leaves the Barons with a three-game point streak intact (3-4-7).

Dimitrakos was recalled by San Jose on Oct. 27 and played in six games with the Sharks, posting three points (1-2-3). In five games with the Barons this season, Dimitrakos accumulated seven points (3-4-7) and a +7 plus/minus rating. He was named SherWood AHL "Player of the Week" for the period ending Oct. 26. He was selected by San Jose in the fifth round (155th overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. Dimitrakos returns to the Barons with a three-game AHL point streak intact (3-4-7).

Friday night your Barons make their first trip of the season to New York to battle North Division rival, Rochester at 7:30pm. Saturday afternoon the Barons return to home ice for another Barons Kids' Day matinee when they host the Toronto Roadrunners at 1pm. All the action will be heard live on the net at www.clevelandbarons.net and Friday's game will also be broadcast on FOX Sports 1350-AM. Tickets for Saturday's game are available on-line at the Barons web site, at the Gund Arena Box Office and through all TicketMaster outlets in Northeast Ohio.
