LOOKING AHEAD:

Hartford puts its eight-game unbeaten streak on the line Wednesday night when Worcester visits the Civic Center (7:05 ET). The Wolf Pack remain the only AHL team without a regulation loss this season (8-0-3-1), thanks largely to team defense: Hartford leads the AHL in allowing 1.58 goals and 23.5 shots per game, and ranks second on the penalty kill (91.0%) while scoring a league-high four shorthanded goals. Chad Wiseman is the Pack's top scorer with 12 points in 11 games, and Jed Ortmeyer and Fedor Tyutin lead all AHL rookies with a plus-9 rating. IceCats defenseman Mike Stuart has a point in three straight games after going scoreless in his first six.

Scott Allen resumes the head coaching duties in San Antonio on Thursday night when the Rampage visit Grand Rapids (7:00 ET, 6:00 CT). Allen, who was 6-8-1 down the stretch last year following John Torchetti's promotion to Florida, takes over for Steve Ludzik, who was named to the Panthers' staff on Monday. Eric Beaudoin and Juraj Kolnik have recorded seven points each in the last three games for San Antonio, which enters play one point behind first-place Chicago and one ahead of the Griffins in the West Division. Mark Mowers, an AHL Second Team All-Star in 2002-03, leads Grand Rapids with eight goals and 13 points this year. The Griffins were 6-4-0 against the Rampage in 2002-03.
