Shannon Scott records first triple-double in Raptors 905 history

Raptors 905 guard Shannon Scott recorded the first triple-double in team history and guard Davion Berry set a new career high in points for the second-straight game as the Mississauga club defeated the Westchester Knicks 114-113 Thursday night at Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York.

Raptors 905 started the game with a 10-2 run in the opening three minutes and carried the early momentum to a 36-22 advantage after the first quarter. Westchester recorded the first seven points of the second quarter to cut their deficit in half and kept the game to within single digits going into halftime, down 65-56.

Raptors 905 led by as many as 19 points with just over three minutes to play in the third quarter before the Knicks finished off the period with a 16-2 run to narrow the gap to just five points, 90-85, heading into the final frame. In the fourth quarter, Raptors 905 went ahead by 10 points with under eight minutes to play, but the Knicks rebounded with a 13-0 run over the next two minutes to overtake the lead. From there, the teams had three ties and three lead changes before Raptors 905 went ahead for good in the final minute.

Leading Raptors 905 in points were Davion Berry (game-high 31), Shannon Scott (24), Scott Suggs (16), E.J. Singler (15) and Sim Bhullar (15). Scott completed the triple-double with a game-high 11 assists and a shared game-high 11 rebounds. Scoring in double digits for the Knicks were Cleanthony Early (20), Jimmer Fredette (19), Travis Trice II (18), Jordan Bachynski (17), Jordon Crawford (14) and Ra'Shad James (13). Early and Bachynski each had double-doubles with 11 and 10 rebounds, respectively.

Westchester led Raptors 905 in field goal percentage (48.3-44.4), free throw percentage (82.1-80.6), points in the paint (54-34), second-chance points (20-11) and fast-break points (15-12), while Raptors 905 held the advantage in three point percentage (47.2-37.5).

Raptors 905 and the Knicks will rematch Saturday, March 26 at Hershey Centre in Mississauga at 2 p.m.
