Iowa Energy Win on Buzzer Beater

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Energy (23-23) won 108-105 over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (18-29) Thursday night at Wells Fargo Arena.

The Energy were led by D.J. Stephens with 26 points and nine rebounds. James Ennis added 21 points and five assists. Andrew Harrison posted 16 points, two rebounds and five assists. The Mad Ants were led by CJ Fair with 25 points and five rebounds.

It was a back and forth battle to start the game with six early lead changes. Ramon Harris and Stephens led the Energy in the first with six points each as Fort Wayne took a 26-20 lead at the end of the first. The Energy came back in the second quarter, outscoring the Mad Ants 28-18 to hold a 48-44 halftime lead. Stephens led the Energy with 13 points in the first half.

The Energy started the third quarter hot and opened up a 19-point lead behind Ennis and Stephens. The Mad Ants would climb their way back as the Energy held a 75-72 advantage heading into the fourth. It remained a close game down the stretch and was a two-point game in the final minute. The Mad Ants tied the game 105-105 with 1.5 seconds remaining. Ramon Harris hit the game winning three as time expired to lift the Energy to a 108-105 victory over the Mad Ants to extend the winning streak to five games.

The Energy are home Saturday at 7 p.m. for MidAmerican Energy's Go Green Night.
