Westchester Knicks News Release

WHITE PLAINS - The Westchester Knicks (25-20), the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, lost a comeback attempt to the Raptors 905 (20-26), the Toronto Raptors affiliate, the final score 114-113.

Raptors 905 tipped off the game on a 10-2 run before Westchester responded with seven in a row of their own. Grabbing a double-digit lead on multiple occasions, Raptors 905 controlled the majority of the first quarter. Giving up seven points in turnovers, the Knicks found themselves down by 14 after the first twelve minutes.

Westchester came out firing in the second quarter, scoring seven straight points to trim Raptors 905's lead to single-digits. The teams traded baskets over the next several minutes with Westchester getting as close as six with three minutes left. Ultimately, Raptors 905 outscored the Knicks by three over the final three minutes to take a nine-point lead into halftime.

The third quarter was looking bleak for Westchester as the visitors racked up a 19-point lead. But the home team rallied, with all players on the court contributing points in the quarter. Feeling the heat with just over three minutes to go in the third, the Knicks used a massive 16-2 run to pull within five heading into the final quarter.

After falling behind by 10 with just over seven minutes left, Westchester opened up a 13-0 run to come all the way back to take a three-point lead. Raptors 905 showed their resiliency, immediately responding with a three-pointer to tie the game up. The teams traded baskets for the next several minutes until a Raptors 905 basket with under a minute left gave them a lead they would not relinquish. Westchester Center Jordan Bachynski nearly forced overtime as his basket rimmed out in the final seconds, giving Raptors 905 a 114-113 victory.

On assignment from the New York Knicks, Cleanthony Early paced Westchester with 20 points, adding 11 rebounds for a double-double. Jimmer Fredette finished with 19 points and four assists, Travis Trice II with 18 points and five assists. Jordan Bachynski also recorded a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds.

The Raptors were paced by a 31-point performance from Davion Berry, who also added five assists. Shannon Scott impressed with a triple-double of 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. Sim Bhullar finished the night with 15 points and eight rebounds.

The Westchester Knicks will travel to Canada this weekend for a Saturday afternoon rematch against the Raptors 905, the Toronto Raptors' affiliate, on March 26 at 2:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on MSG Network and on the NBA Development League's YouTube channel.
