Sevens Lose Battle to BayHawks 158-122

NEWARK, DE - The Delaware 87ers (12-35) faced off against the Erie BayHawks (15-31) for the final match-up of the season. The Sevens were unable to hold off the BayHawks and fell 158-122.

Josh Akognon scored a season high 32 points and grabbed four rebounds. BJ Young contributed 20 points and three rebounds.

Norvel Pelle ignited a 16-2 run with a huge slam with 5:30 remaining in the first quarter. The Sevens led 35-32 after the first. Pelle finished the game with 16 points and three rebounds.

The BayHawks pulled away in the second quarter and went into the locker room leading 71-58 at the half. The Sevens were unable to regain the lead.

Justin Brownlee led the Erie in scoring with 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Eight BayHawks scored in double figures.

The 87ers return to action tomorrow, Saturday, March 29, when they travel to take on the Erie BayHawks. The game tips off at 7:00 p.m. E.T.
