Hoops for a Cure Highlights a Pair of Weekend Home Games

Des Moines, IA March 28, 2014 - The Iowa Energy will play host to the Canton Charge on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday night is the Energy's Hoops for a Cure game. The team will be wearing special pink uniforms that will be auctioned off to benefit Mercy Cancer Center. Fans can come to the Energy blood drive at Wells Fargo Arena from 7 am to noon on Saturday to donate blood. Donors receive a t-shirt, goodie bag, and a free ticket to Saturday night's game.

The first 1,500 fans through the doors to Saturday's game will receive Thunderstix, and the Energy's popular $2 beer special will start at 6 pm. The game tips at 7.

The Energy will take on the Charge again on Sunday at 4 pm. The first 500 kids will receive an Othyus Jeffers youth jersey presented by Dahl's.

Currently a 1/2 game behind Rio Grande Valley in the Central Division, the Energy's "magic number" is one - meaning the team must win one of their remaining 5 games to qualify for the playoffs.
