Sacramento Kings Sign Forward Willie Reed

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Sacramento Kings announced Friday that the team has signed Armor forward Willie Reed for the remainder of the season.

He becomes the 11th GATORADE Call-Up in franchise history, fourth this season for the Armor, joining Lorenzo Brown (Philadelphia), Adonis Thomas (Orlando) and Darius Johnson-Odom (Philadelphia), and 40th of the 2013-14 season for the NBA Development League.

Reed is fresh off a Co-Performer of the Week honor announced Monday by the NBA D-League after averaging 18.3 points and 19.3 rebounds over four games last week. The 6-9 forward will make his second trip to the NBA after being called-up by the Memphis Grizzlies on April 17, 2013 and remaining on the roster through the playoffs.

Reed averaged 14.8 points and 10.1 rebounds over 44 games (33 starts) with the Armor this season. He also logged 11 straight double-doubles and tied the all-time franchise mark with 24 rebounds on March 17. Reed has not seen game action in the NBA.
