Wilmington Blue Rocks News Release
Lynchburg, VA - Another Carolina League day, another rainout for the Wilmington Blue Rocks (12-7). The Rocks' Thursday morning series finale against the Lynchburg Hillcats (6-12) at City Stadium was postponed due to rain. The teams will make it up the next time the Blue Crew visits Lynchburg on June 14.
The Blue Rocks return home to kick off a six-game homestand on Friday night. The first of a three-game series against the Winston-Salem Dash is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch on Star Wars Night at the ballpark. Come out and see the Star Wars 501st and Rebel Legion along with Chewbacca at Frawley Stadium. After the game, everyone in attendance will be treated to a fireworks show as every home Friday game means fireworks at Frawley Stadium in 2011.
Broadcast coverage begins at 6:35 p.m. as studio host Adam Dobrowolski brings fans the Rocks Report Pre-game Show, presented by Wawa, on 89.7 WGLS-FM and online at wgls.rowan.edu.
PEBBLES OF KNOWLEDGE:
While the Blue Rocks lost two on the rain-shortened three-game series against the Hillcats, they did log a winning road trip at 4-3.
