
Salazar's Comeback Continues to Make Headlines

Lynchburg, VA- Luis Salazar has been a household name around members of the baseball community for decades. However, after a near fatal accident during Spring Training earlier this year, his name and story has been thrust in front of every sports fan in America.
Earlier today, ESPN.com ran a story chronicling Salazar's life before the accident as well as his inspirational return to managing.

Salazar was met by many members of the local and national media upon his first game as manager of the Hillcats including ESPN.com. It was Friday April 15th, and the Hillcats home opener. Over 5,000 fans packed into Lynchburg City Stadium, all of whom gave Salazar a well-deserved standing ovation before the game when his name was announced for the first time as manager of their beloved Hillcats.
Salazar was touched by the reception he received prior to the first pitch. He said, "It was very a special day, and I'm very grateful to be back on the field."
