Senjem powers Rox past Grays, 4-3

BROCKTON - The Brockton Rox (11-9) defeated the Can-Am Grays (9-11), by a score of 4-3, in front of 5,468 fans Wednesday morning. The Rox picked up their third straight win as Harbor One Credit Union presented the third annual School Day. Students from the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades at Brockton public schools were in attendance to see the Rox win.

The Rox took the lead in the bottom of the first inning when Kris Zacuto scored on single by Hector Henriquez. Henriquez picked up his ninth RBI of the season and his third of the series. The Rox second baseman is 8-for-13 in the series.

In the third inning the Grays tied the game when Greg Strickland singled home Alex Garcia. The Rox recovered the lead in the bottom of the inning. Saul Bustos singled on Craig Lewis' double, and Guye Senjem followed with a two-run home run. Senjem's second home run of the season put the Rox up 4-1.

Rox starter Manny Tejada left the game in the sixth inning with a 4-2 lead. Eddie Aucoin, Keith Ferguson, and Tony Stutz combined to close out the Grays for the win. Tejada (2-3) was credited with the win and Stutz picked up his first save of the season. Grays' starting pitcher Jodie Kennedy (1-2) picked up the loss.
