Harrisburg Senators News Release


The Harrisburg Senators started their 12-game homestand with a 5-1 win over the Bowie Baysox Tuesday night at FNB Field. JT Arruda homered in the first inning to give the Sens a 2-0 lead and Jackson Rutledge pitched six strong innings for the win.

The Big Play

In the bottom of the sixth inning with the Sens leading 3-1, Drew Millas singled back up the middle with runners at second and third and one out, to give the Sens a 5-1 lead.

On Capitol Hill

Jackson Rutledge started and went six innings for the win. It was the fourth straight game he's gone at least six innings. He struck out five and walked two allowing just one run.

Garvin Allston followed and went 1.1 innings allowing two hits.

Amos Willingham came on with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth and ended the threat with a strikeout. He finished off the game with a scoreless ninth to earn his fourth save.

With the Gavel

JT Arruda hit a two-run home run in the first inning, his first double-A home run. He also chipped in with a single.

Drew Millas had a two-run single.

Filibusters

Harrisburg snapped their four-game losing streak... The Sens won the first game of a series for the second time this season...

On the Docket

The Senators and Bowie Baysox play game two of their six-game series at FNB Field Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Stations 96.5 FM, 95.3 FM, and 1400 AM beginning at 5:45 p.m.
