Senators Receive Number One Draft Choice

The Harrisburg Senators announce today that 2006 Washington Nationals number one draft choice INF Chris Marrero has been promoted to Harrisburg from Potomac. In addition, the Senators have placed OF Marvin Lowrance has been placed on the disabled list with a calf strain effective Monday, August 17.

Marrero played in 112 games with Potomac this season batting .287 with 16 home runs and 65 runs batted in. He entered the season as the number three prospect in the Nationals organization according to Baseball America. This is his first time being above High A in his career.

Lowrance was hitting .239 in 106 games with the Senators. He was leading the team with 15 home runs and he had 40 runs batted in.

With these moves the Senators roster stands at 24 active and 1 on the DL.
