Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Harrisburg Senators came back to tie the Richmond Flying Squirrels in the sixth inning, but were not able to take the lead as Richmond went on to win 3-2 on Tuesday night in front of 2,033 fans at Metro Bank Park.

Kevin Keyes hit a towering two-run home run, scoring Matt Skole, in the bottom of the sixth to tie Richmond, 2-2. The homer was Keyes 12th of the season, along with his 36th and 37th RBI. Unfortunately for Harrisburg, they were not able to score in any other innings. Matt Skole continued his consecutive games on-base streak to 24 games with a double and a walk on the night. The other Senators' hit belonged to Brian Jeroloman who singled in the fifth inning.

Paolo Espino allowed two runs to cross within the first three batters of the game, but was outstanding afterwards. Espino surrendered just four hits in six innings, while striking out seven Richmond batters. Paul Demny followed by allowing a go-ahead RBI single to Kelby Tomlinson in the seventh inning. However, Demny retired the final six batters consecutively in his three innings of work.

Tomorrow night, game three of the four-game set will begin at 7:00 p.m. John Simms will make his second start for the Senators against Richmond's Austin Fleet. The game can be heard beginning with the pregame show at 6:45 p.m. on 1460 AM or via senatorsbaseball.com, 1460theticket.com or the iHeart Radio app.
