Harrisburg Senators News Release


On Wednesday night at FNB Field, the Harrisburg Senators made it two straight over the Bowie Baysox with a 3-2 win in front of 3,858 fans. The teams traded runs between the bottom of the first and top of the second before the Senators plated two runs in the sixth inning to take a 3-1 lead.

The Big Play

Bowie had two runners on and one out in the first inning, looking to take an early lead against Senators starter Mitchell Parker. But Parker induced Zach Watson to hit into a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning. He went on to retire 12 of the next 14 batters.

On Capitol Hill

Mitchell Parker went six innings for the second straight game. He allowed a run on three hits while striking out six.

Carlos Romero followed and allowed a run in two-thirds of an inning.

Tim Cate went 1.1 innings and struck out two, facing six batters.

Orlando Ribalta came on with a man at first and no outs in the ninth and retired all three batters he faced to earn his first save.

With the Gavel

Blake Rutherford hit a solo home run in the first and drove in a run with a single in the sixth.

Leonel Valera drove in the other run with a sacrifice fly in the sixth and he singled in the eighth.

Harrisburg had just five hits in the game.

Filibusters

The Senators play the first of two home 11:00 a.m. games Thursday... Rutherford reached base three times... Harrisburg has won the first two of their 12-game two-team homestand.

The Senators and Bowie Baysox play game three of their six-game series at FNB Field Thursday at 11:00 a.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Stations 96.5 FM, 95.3 FM, and 1400 AM beginning at 10:45 a.m.
