Senators Can't Pick Up Sweep

The Bowie Baysox struck early and often on Thursday night as they beat the Harrisburg Senators 11-1 in front of 3,945 fans at Metro Bank Park. With the win, Bowie avoided a four-game sweep by the Senators.

Senators' starter Zach Kroenke lasted 2.2 innings, allowing ten hits and six earned runs. Brett Brach fired the next 4.1 innings. The righty allowed seven hits but limited Bowie to just two runs while striking out three. Lefty Bryan Harper allowed two runs on three hits in the eighth inning and Tyler Herron allowed a run in the ninth.

The lone Senators' run came in fourth inning as Drew Vettleson (2-for-4, RBI) knocked in Kevin Keyes from third. Overall, Harrisburg had eight hits as seven-of-ten Senators who appeared in the game bagged a hit. Jose Lozada and Caleb Ramsey each hit doubles for Harrisburg.

The Altoona Curve invades Metro Bank Park tomorrow night to begin a five-game series taking place over a four-day period.
