Harrisburg Senators News Release

A Brian Goodwin two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning was all the offense the Harrisburg Senators could muster in a 5-2 loss to the Trenton Thunder Thursday night at Arm & Hammer Park in Trenton. The loss snaps a three-game winning streak for the Senators (14-19).

The home run was the first of the season for Goodwin, who now has 10 RBI on the season. Six different Senators had a hit in the game, including doubles by Wilmer Difo (2-for-4) and Tony Renda. Difo's double is his eighth in 11 games with the Senators. Mario Lisson extended his hit streak to six games with a single in the eighth inning. Harrisburg also walked six times in the game, but left 12 runners on base as a team. The Senators were just 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position.

Paolo Espino endured a tough first inning in which he allowed four runs on three hits, including a three-run triple, and a walk. However, Espino settled down and followed with four scoreless innings on two more hits. The right-hander struck out six Trenton hitters. In his first appearance of an MLB rehab with Harrisburg, Erik Davis struck out a pair in a scoreless inning of work. James Simmons worked the final two innings, allowing a run on four hits.

Game two of a four-game weekend set will begin tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. The game can be heard starting with the pregame show at 6:45 p.m. on Fox Sports 1460am, iHeart Radio, and on Tune In.
