Harrisburg Senators News Release

Tonight's Game... Tonight is game two of a three-game series between the Senators and Portland Sea Dogs. The Sens are trying to bounce back from their worst defeat of the season last night at the hands of the Sea Dogs. Last Game... On Friday night the Portland Sea Dogs strode to a 13-0 win over the Senators. The Sea Dogs had 14 hits in the game and received 14 walks and a hit batter, and had two hitters come to the plate seven times. Portland scored in every inning but two, and were only retired once in order. Five different Senator pitchers allowed at least one walk and one run. Garrett Mock started, walked three hitters in the first inning but escaped allowing just a single run. But Portland took advantage of a walk in the second and scored three times on a home run by Jeff Corsaletti. Mock faced just one batter in the third, Cory Keylor, who homered to make the score 5-0 Portland. The Senators twice loaded the bases with one out in the middle innings, but failed to score on each occasion. The Sens had nine hits of their own in the game with Steven Mortimer showing signs of breaking out of his slump with three hits. Sheldon Fulse added two in the loss. Dan Dement had his ten game hitting streak snapped and Frank Diaz left the game after making an awkward throw in the top of the seventh. The game took 3:27 to play, one of the longest nine-inning games in Senators history.
