The SeaWolves take the field tonight in the middle game of a three-game series at Dodd Stadium against the Connecticut Defenders (San Francisco Giants). The Defenders downed the ‘Wolves last night 7-5 in the series opener. The ‘Wolves have struggled at Dodd Stadium over the last three seasons going 0-for their last-seven games in Norwich...The ‘Wolves are 2-2 on the current road trip. Last night's loss dropped the ‘Wolves to a game under .500 on the road. Following Thursday's win at New Britain, the ‘Wolves got to the .500 mark on the road for the first time in 2007...The top three teams in the Southern Division, Erie, Akron and Altoona, all fell last night. Erie and Akron remain tied atop the division with Altoona sitting six games back in third place. Fourth place Reading came back to defeat Binghamton to move within 6.5 games of the first place clubs. Fifth place Bowie downed Trenton 8-7 to move to seven games back...The ‘Wolves send RHP Andrew Kown to the bump in his 14th start of the season. Kown took a no-decision in his last outing against Harrisburg lasting just four innings. Kown walked a season-high five batters in the game. His last win came two outings ago in Trenton and is 1-2 in his last three road starts...RHP Dave McKae takes the mound for the Defenders. McKae took a no-decision in his last outing against Portland. He lasted just two innings allowing 11 runs, 10 earned, on 11 hits. McKae's last win came on July 24 against New Britain going eight innings allowing two runs on four hits.
