
Sardinha, Wright pace Thunder to 10-4 win

(Trenton,NJ)- Four hits and three RBI from RF Bronson Sardinha, along with seven solid innings from starter Chase Wright, led the Trenton Thunder to a 10-4 win over Bowie on Saturday night. Trenton continues to hold a 5 1/2 game lead in the Northern Division over Portland with 31 games remaining.
The Thunder (66-45) jumped out to a 6-1 lead after two innings. Bowie starter Rosman Garcia allowed an RBI double to Sardinha and a run-scoring single to CF Matt Carson in the 1st Inning for a 2-0 lead. After a solo homer by Bowie RF Nolan Reimold in the top of the second, the Thunder plated four runs in the bottom half. SS Reegie Corona had an RBI single in the inning, as well as a two-run single from Sardinha. Garcia (3-5) left due to injury after 1 1/3 innings, allowing six runs on seven hits.
Thunder starter Chase Wright worked around a pair of solo homers by the Baysox to get the win. Wright (3-1) worked seven innings, allowing three runs on six hits. he walked one and struck out four. Bowie (57-56) had three solo homers in the game. Trenton then broke open the game with two runs each in the 6th and 7th Innings. Noah Hall had a two-run double in the sixth, while 3B Juan Francia added an RBI single in the seventh. Every Trenton starter had at leats one hit.
Trenton and Bowie meet again on Sunday at 1:05 PM. Alan Horne (10-3, 2.32) starts for the Thunder against Bowie's Fredy Deza (4-7, 4.60).
