Senators activate VanAllen and place Atilano on disabled list

The Harrisburg Senators announced today that LHP Cory VanAllen has been activated from the disabled list and placed RH Luis Atilano on the disabled list with a blister on his right hand.

VanAllen had been on the DL with a sore back. He is 0-3 with a 6.33 ERA this season in six starts with the Senators. He was selected in the 5th round of the 2006 draft by the Nationals.

Atilano is the 1st round draft pick of the Braves before being dealt to the Nationals on 8/31/09 for Darryl Ward. Atilano is 3-3 with a 6.10 ERA in eight starts. The Senators have won the last five games he has started.

Also today, Luke Montz was optioned back to Harrisburg from Washington after being promoted to Washington yesterday. With these moves, the roster is now at 24 active and 4 on the DL.
