Just Take The I-84 South And Follow The Signs
The Grizzlies and Steelheads will meet at the E-Center this week for the first time since December 26 when Utah defeated Idaho 5-2. Since then, Utah has played eight-straight games in Boise and gone there four separate times.
And Counting
Including two preseason games, Tuesday will mark the 19th meeting of the year between Utah and their closest regional rival in Idaho.
At The E-Center
Utah at 2-1 in the playoffs and 12-2-2-0 in their last 16 home games overall, looks to continue to make the E-Center a tough place to play as round two begins.
Kinasewich On A Streak
Grizzlies captain Ryan Kinasewich leads Utah with a six-game playoff scoring streak totaling six goals and three assists during that stretch.
Power-Play Rolling
The Grizzlies power-play, which led the ECHL during the regular season at a 22.7-percent rate has continued to roll in the playoffs. Utah is 7-28 for a 25-percent rate in the postseason on the power-play. The Grizzlies also rank fourth in the ECHL on the penalty-kill in the playoffs killing off 86-percent of their shorthanded situations.
Getting The Big Guy Rolling
Tom May scored his first two career playoff goals Saturday as he played in his 12th career playoff game. The six-foot-three forward has combined for 56 regular season goals in his first two years, but has struggled in the playoffs. Last season, he set a Utah record with a goal in 12-straight games and this year had stretches of seven goals in nine games from March 14-March 27 and seven goals in eight games from November 20-December 4. Utah was 14-7-1-2 this season with May scoring in a game.
Due For A Point
AJ Perry has gone scoreless in two-straight games for just the fourth time this year and has not gone three-straight games without a point this year. Utah is also 2-0 in the playoffs when Perry scores a goal.
Other Good Indicators
Utah is 3-1 in the playoffs when Tim Crowder scores a goal and 2-0 when James Sixsmith lights the lamp.
Playoff Veteran Still Going
30-year-old Lance Galbraith has two goals and two assists in his last five games for the Grizzlies. In 80 career playoff games, winning two Kelly Cups with Idaho, Galbraith has 34 goals and 31 assists for 65 points.
Tickets, Food and Beverage
Every ticket for Tuesday's game is available for $10 and can be purchased at the E-Center box office. In addition, it is a Wild $2 Weeknight with $2 Hot Dogs, $2 Fries, $2 Soft Drinks and $2 Draft Beers.
