Game 1
Friday, April 16
Stockton 3 vs. CONDORS 2 (OT)
Attendance: 5,208
The Condors never trailed in the game, but Stockton fought back from two one-goal deficits to take a 3-2 overtime victory in Game 1. RW Ryan Menei and F Mark Voakes (pictured) scored power play goals to stake the Condors to two separate leads, but Bakersfield couldn't hold on. RW Kelly Czuy scored on the power play with 2:57 left in regulation to force OT for the Thunder, while F J.F. Caudron netted the overtime winner at 10:18.
Game 2
Saturday, April 17
Stockton 4 vs. CONDORS 3 (OT)
Attendance: 4,829
On Saturday the Condors held three one-goal leads, only to see the Thunder come back each time and eventually win in another overtime matchup. D Sasha Pokulok, RW Ryan Menei and C Maxime Macenauer each scored for Bakersfield. The Stockton rally was capped by two goals from C Oren Eizenman, who tied it up with 30 seconds remaining in the second period on the power play, and lit the lamp for the game winner at 9:01 of the extra session.
PLAYER AND TEAM NOTES:
* The Condors have come from a 2-0 deficit to win a series in the past. In 2006-07, the Condors trailed 2-0 against the Fresno Falcons (then coached by current Stockton Head Coach Matt Thomas) but rallied to win four straight to take the series in six games
* The Condors have led for 42:29 of the two games played in this round so far. Stockton has led for 0:00. In each game, the only "lead" the Thunder had came via the game winning goal in overtime. * RW Ryan Menei has scored a goal in both games of this series.
* Menei, D Sasha Pokulok and C Maxime Macenauer (pictured) each scored in this series, bringing the total to eight players this season who have lit the lamp for the first time in the playoffs as a pro. Of the 18 skaters who have taken the ice in the playoffs for Bakersfield, only four had previously scored a professional playoff goal (Ianiero - 16; Calder - 11; Goulet - 5; Marchesi - 1).
* Stockton RW Kelly Czuy has a point in seven of the nine playoff games he has played against the Condors (including last season with Las Vegas). He has recorded 5g-7a-12pts in those contests.
* With 13 career playoff assists, F Andrew Ianiero needs just one to tie Dave Bonk for 3rd on the Condors career list. The record holder is Sean Venedam with 18. Ianiero has also passed two players in career playoff penalty minutes, ranking 4th. He is already the club's all-time playoff leader in games (40), goals (17) and points (30).
* So far this playoffs, the Condors are responsible for drawing 19% of the ECHL's total playoff attendance, while hosting 12% of the league's games (23,453 of 123,507 total fans).
