
SeaWolves Announce Winners of All-Star Package

The Erie SeaWolves announced the winners of a pair of trips for two to the MLB All-Star Weekend in Detroit, MI July 9 13, 2005. The first of two winners was drawn on Sunday July 3, 2005 at Jerry Uht Park in front of more than 2,500 fans. The second winner was randomly selected from online registrants.
The 2005 Major League All-Star Game will be hosted by the SeaWolves Affiliate the Detroit Tigers. The weekend will include the Future s Game featuring SeaWolves pitchers Joel Zumaya and Justin Verlander, Legends and Celebrities Softball Game, Home Run Derby, the John Hancock All-Star Fan Fest, and the MLB All-Star Game at Comerica Park. Each package winner will receive two tickets to each of the weekends events as well as 4 night and 5 day accommodations within walking distance of the Park. The prize pack totals around $2,000 for each winner.
The Future s Game will feature SeaWolves pitchers Justin Verlander and Joel Zumaya. Both pitchers are listed as Detroit top prospects listed #3 and #4 respectively, and pitch in upwards of high 90 s.. A recent addition to the SeaWolves, Verlander, the 2nd overall pick in the 04 draft, just made his major league debut on the 4th of the July, and will return to finish the season in Erie. Zumaya, an Eastern League All Star, is 7-3, 2.90 ERA.
The first winner of the Erie SeaWolves All-Star package went to season ticket holder Paul Foust. Millcreek resident Bob Greve was selected as the online winner from over thousands of entries. The SeaWolves accepted entries during the month of June. Earlier this season the SeaWolves joined with Rocket 101 to give away a Harley Fat Boy worth $15,000. The SeaWolves look forward to giving away a custom patio room valued at $12,000 presented by Custom Patio Rooms of Erie. This great prize as well as many others will be given away on Fan Appreciation Day, September 4th, to conclude the season of giving from your Erie SeaWolves.
