
All-Star events set for Tuesday

Portland Sea Dogs News Release
Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs will team up with the Maine Children's Cancer Program to host a family event night at Hadlock Field on Tuesday, July 12th. At 7:00 PM the Maine Children's Cancer Program will host a "Celebrity Softball Game" at Hadlock Field. Gates will open at 6:00 PM. There will be a special raffle that evening for fans with several items including Red Sox tickets and four fans will win a chance to play in the softball game with their favorite local celebrities. Following the softball game fans are invited to stay at the ballpark to watch the Major League Baseball All-Star Game on the Ford Board at Hadlock Field.
The celebrity teams will consist of local news personalities such as sports broadcasters Dave Eid (WGME), Lee Goldberg (WCSH), and Norm Karkos (WMTW); and representatives from the Maine Children's Cancer Program. Each team will also feature a celebrity manager. Former major leaguer Mike Bordick will manage one team, and Slugger the Sea Dog will act as skipper for the other.

Admission for both events is free and tickets are available at the Hadlock Field box office through the evening of July 12th. The Portland Sea Dogs host the 2005 Hannaford Eastern League All-Star Game at Hadlock Field at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 13th. The game is sold out.
