Dorta Stars, Rasner Returns

Harrisburg Senators News Release


The Harrisburg Senators announced today that infielder Melvin Dorta has been added to the all-star team and pitcher Darrell Rasner has been placed on the active roster.

Dorta replaces Don Kelly of the Erie Sea Wolves who was promoted to Triple-A. The addition of Dorta to the Southern Division team was just one of six changes announced for the Eastern League All-Star game which will be played in Portland on July 13th.

Dorta will join teammates Dee Haynes, John Wilson, Edgar Gonzalez and Saul Rivera on the all-star team.

The following changes were made to the rosters due to promotions and injuries that have occurred since the original rosters were released:

Northern Division

Justin Pope (Trenton) replaces Jon Papelbon (Portland)
Brian Burres (Norwich) replaces Chris Begg (Norwich)
David Bacani (Binghamton) replaces Chase Lambin (Binghamton)
Chris Durbin (Portland) replaces Kevin Thompson (Trenton)

Southern Division

Chris Cooper (Akron) replaces J.D. Martin (Akron)
Melvin Dorta (Harrisburg) replaces Don Kelly (Erie)

Rasner returns from the disabled list where he was placed on June 28th with a right arm contusion. The addition of Rasner brings the Senators roster back to the 23-player limit.
