Seattle Reign FC News Release
SEATTLE (May 2, 2015) - Seattle Reign FC announced today that midfielder Havana Solaun has been placed on season-ending injury list and will miss the 2015 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) season after suffering a broken left ankle in a preseason match against University of Washington on April 3. Solaun underwent successful surgery on her left ankle in late April and is expected to make a full recovery.
"Havana had an excellent pre season with us and we were extremely saddened by her injury, we wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to her being back on the field next season" said Laura Harvey.
Reign FC drafted the former University of Florida midfielder in the second round with the No. 15 overall pick in the NWSL College Draft on January 16, 2015.
At Florida, Solaun played in 90 games (71 starts) and was an All-Southeastern Conference first-team selection in 2013 and 2014. During her senior year, Solaun appeared in all 23 matches (22 starts) for a total of 1,663 minutes. The midfielder notched nine goals and nine assists, including a game-winning goal against California in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
