FC Kansas City News Release
HOUSTON, Tex. (May 1, 2015) - FC Kansas City will visit the Houston Dash in Week 4 of the 2015 NWSL season in the team's first of a two-game road trip after earning their first victory of the year last week against the Seattle Reign FC. The match will be streamed live on YouTube. In-game updates can be followed on Twitter @BluesGameday.
Head coach Vlatko Andonovski's team will return to the BBVA Compass Stadium after ten months. The last time the Blues visited the Dash, Frances Silva gave Kansas City a 2-1 victory with a game-winning stoppage time goal on June 14, 2014.
Both teams have squared off three times with FC Kansas City leading the All-time series 2-0-1 against the Dash including a 4-0 road victory on May 3, 2014 and a 2-2 tie at Durwood Stadium on May 18, 2014.
After three games, the Dash are fourth with a 1-1-1 record after a home opener 2-0 win over the Washington Spirit, a 1-1 draw against Sky Blue and a 3-2 loss in Boston last week. On the other hand, the Blues are sixth with a win and two losses.
U.S. Women's National Soccer Team players Amy Rodriguez, Becky Sauerbrunn, Heather O'Reilly, Lauren Holiday from FC Kansas City and Morgan Brian, Carli Lloyd and Meghan Klingenberg from Houston will not be available to play since they have joined camp in preparation for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.
The Blues will also be facing three former FC Kansas City players on Saturday. Houston's goalkeeper Bianca Henninger and defender Lauren Sesselmann were a part of Andonovski's team throughout the 2013 season and forward Melissa Henderson played with Kansas City for the first half of the 2014 campaign.
Following this match, FC Kansas City will head to New York when they visit the Flash on Friday, May 8.
