Flash Open Home Season against Boston Breakers on Saturday Night

ELMA, N.Y. (Friday, May 1, 2015) - After 14-days without a game, the Western New York Flash (0-2-0, 0 points) will hit the pitch as the club hosts the Boston Breakers (1-1-0, 3 points) at Sahlen's Stadium at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
Saturday's match will be streamed live on YouTube and can be watched by clicking the link here. Fans can also follow live play-by-play at the Flash's official Twitter page, @WNYFlash, and can join the conversation by using the hashtag #WNYFvBOS.
The Flash is coming off of a 1-0 defeat at Portland Thorns FC, where a 22nd minute goal by Allie Long proved to be the decider. The Flash had a number of opportunities, totaling eight shots in the game, but were held scoreless for the first time this year.
Samantha Mewis led her team with six shots, while Sabrina D'Angelo finished with two saves in the 90 minutes.
Boston, who has played two games as well, won its first match last week, a 3-2 decision against the Houston Dash. Julie King and Nkem Ezurike put the Breakers up 2-0 early, but the Dash scored twice in three minutes to level the game in the second half. In the 72nd minute, an own goal by Houston's Carli Lloyd gave the home Breakers a 3-2 lead and that proved to be enough for Boston to earn three points.
Saturday's match will mark the first time sisters Sam Mewis and Kristie Mewis face each other on opposite sides of the pitch. The siblings have represented both their high school and the U.S. Women's National Team together, but have yet to step onto the field as members of opposing squads.
The Flash will face the Breakers with a full, 20-player roster after signing forward Jamia Fields to a contract on Friday. Fields, a rookie out of Florida State University, was drafted by Boston in the Second Round of the 2015 NWSL College Draft (No. 14 overall), but was not signed out of preseason.
Fields, who will wear No. 24 in WNY, was a member of the Seminoles 2014 National Championship team as she scored the lone goal of the College Cup final. Fields scored 14 times while at Florida State and was named to the 2014 College Cup All-Tournament Team.
Following Saturday's home opener, the Flash will complete a two-game home stand on Friday, May 8 when the reigning NWSL Champion FC Kansas City comes to Rochester. The game, which kicks of at 7:00 p.m. ET, will be "3, 2, 1 Night" with $3 general admission tickets, $2 pregame drafts and $1 Sahlen's hot dogs.
