Western New York Flash News Release
BUFFALO, NY --- The Western New York Flash announced today that the club has loaned goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland to the Newcastle Jets of the W-League in Australia for the offseason.
A member of the 2016 NWSL Champions, Rowland started 6 matches, logging one shutout and a 1.33 goals against average in 540 minutes after being acquired from FC Kansas City in June. The Vacaville, California native registered a career-high four saves in the Flash's 2-0 win over the Chicago Red Stars.
The Newcastle Jets have started their season 2-2-0 and sit in fifth place in the W-League table, but suffered an injury to goalkeeper Kelsey Wys in their most recent match. The team's full schedule can be viewed here. The Newcastle Jets finished their 2015-16 campaign in sixth place.
Rowland will return to the Western New York Flash prior to the start of the 2017 NWSL season.
