Season Wrap Up

Wrap Up: The Tulsa Oilers have finished their 2009-10 Central Hockey League regular season, concluding a six game road trip on Saturday night.

Tough Finish: The Oilers went 0-2-1 in their final three games of the season. They lost a 2-1 shootout at Bossier-Shreveport lost 6-4 at Mississippi and lost the season finale 5-2 at Mississippi.

"Hat" It All: The Oilers game Friday at Mississippi had a little bit of everything. Troy Riddle registered the Oilers' fourth hat trick of the season, getting his third goal with just three seconds left. That capped wild final 1:42 in which Mississippi scored twice, including Glenn Detuelleo completing his own hat trick into an empty net with 57 seconds, left before Riddle got his third of the night.

Topping Off: Aaron Davis completed the season as the Oilers leading scorer. He had a career high 67 points on 20 goals and 47 assists. T.J. Caig who missed the final 13 games of the season led the Oilers with 23 goals. Caig also led the team with nine power play goals and tied with Rob Hisey with four game winning goals. Defenseman Jim Henkemeyer, who joined the Oilers Thanksgiving night and played 48 games led Tulsa at +15. Overall, including his eight earlier games with Rapid City, Henkemeyer was +16.

CHL Highs: The Oilers led the CHL with 20 shorthanded goals. Leading the charge in that category were Jake Riddle and Hisey who tied for the league lead with five each. Defensemen Derek Eastman and Derek Merlini finished second and third in the league with six and four shorthanded assists respectively. Goaltender Marty Magers 54 save performance in a 2-1 shootout win at Rio Grande Valley on December 29th was the most saves in a game this year. Magers also finished with two assists.
