Brandon Wheat Kings News Release

Brandon, Manitoba -- The Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings have announced that 2008-2009 Season Ticket holders will have the opportunity to pick up their ticket packages beginning this Friday, September 12th at 10 a.m. in the Keystone Centre's Assembly Hall.

The Wheat Kings say that western Manitoba hockey fans that have ordered (and paid) for their 2008-09 Season Tickets can pick up between the hours of 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Friday also marks the second and final pre-season home game for the Wheat Kings, who will kick off a weekend home and home series with the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors. Puck drop Friday night is 7:30 p.m. The two teams will close out their exhibition schedule the following night in Moose Jaw.

In addition to picking up Season Tickets, western Manitoba hockey fans are invited to stop by, take a quick tour of Westman Place and receive additional information on the many benefits of becoming a Wheat Kings' Season Ticket holder.

To simplify the buying process this year, the Wheat Kings are again offering two price points - $299 for adults and $149 for youth (18 and under). By having the most affordable ticket prices in the WHL, fans can enjoy exciting Wheat Kings' hockey for $8.70 per game (based on adult prices).

As of Wednesday, September 10th, the Wheat Kings had sold 2,313 season tickets - well below the club's off-season goal to sell three thousand and 400 fewer than what was sold during the 2007-08 campaign.

In related news, the Wheat Kings have unveiled their 2008-09 VIP Card Sponsors. Fans purchasing season tickets or the 36-game Flex Pack will recieve a card that entitles them to valuable discounts at ten local businesses. They include Microplay, Wendy's, Arbys, Applebees, Gullivers, Wok Box, Canad Inns, Pizza Hut, Grower Direct and Quiznos Sub.
