Edmonton Oil Kings News Release

Edmonton, AB - Singing sensation, accomplished song-writer and actor Jesse McCartney will make his first-ever appearance in Western Canada when he will perform live at the Edmonton Oil Kings ENMAX Opening Night, Friday, September 19 at Rexall Place. The 20-year old multi-platinum recording star will perform during both intermissions of the Oil Kings game versus the Medicine Hat Tigers.

McCartney has already racked up a number of career awards and nominations including an American Music Award nomination for "Best New Artist," an MTV Award nomination for "Best Pop Video" and three Teen Choice Awards, including "Choice Male Artist," "Breakout Artist" and "Crossover Artist".

"Adding an in-game concert of this magnitude really illustrates the Oil Kings commitment to providing the best in family entertainment," said the Club's Vice President Nick Wilson. "Our goal is to be Edmonton's first choice in family entertainment and we invite all families to join us on ENMAX Opening Night for a most memorable evening."

McCartney is looking forward to his first-ever visit to Edmonton. "I'm totally stoked to be playing the Oil Kings Opener. One of my best friends plays hockey in Canada and I've been to a bunch of his games. It's great sport. There's no doubt we're going to put on a wicked show at Rexall Place next Friday."

ENMAX Opening Night will also feature a pre-game Carnival outside Rexall Place. The Carnival, which will include stilt walkers, street hockey, kids games and appearances by members of the Edmonton Oilers, starts at 5:00 p.m. while the Oil Kings and Medicine Hat Tigers drop the puck at 7:00.

Tickets for the game are priced as low as $17 in the ATB Financial Zone, and are available at oilkings.ca, via the phone at 780-451-8000 or at any Ticketmaster location.
