Tulsa Oilers News Release
Get Going: The Tulsa Oilers begin their 17th season in the Central Hockey League Friday at Oklahoma City against the Blazers at 7:10 p.m. and then visit the Corpus Christi Rayz Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
Tune ups: The Oilers went 1-2-0 in the preseason, beating Wichita 6-5 in a shootout, and losing to two games to Oklahoma City, 4-3 and 9-5.
Back Again: As of Monday, the Oilers had six players on their roster who finished last season with Tulsa. They are goaltenders Kevin St. Pierre and Guy St. Vincent; center Brendon Hodge; and right wings Steve Jensen, Jeff Christian, and Kai Magnussen.
Vet Status: The Oilers have three new veterans on their roster. The CHL allows for four veteran players (goaltenders are exempt), who have played more than 280 professional games at the start of the season. The Oilers four veterans are Christian, right wing Mike Beausoleil, and defensemen Jason Lawmaster and Kevin Hansen.
Watch Party: Again this season, CHL games are available for free on line viewing, on the CHL Network. For Saturday's game at Corpus Christi, Oiler fans are encouraged to go to Santino's Restaurant located behind Toys R Us, at 71^st and Memorial, to watch the game.
BOK Opener: The Oilers will christen their new home, the BOK Center, on Saturday October 25^th at 7:35 p.m. against Oklahoma City. A record crowd is expected to be on hand for the first Tulsa sporting event in the BOK Center.
