Laredo Bucks News Release

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League will open the 2008-09 season this Friday and Saturday at the Laredo Entertainment Center, playing two marquee games against Northers Conference powers.

On Friday Laredo will host their former Team Captain Brent Cullaton and the Rocky Mountain Rage, before hosting the defending CHL Governor's Cup Champion Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Saturday. Both games will start at 7:30pm, with tickets as low as $10. Call 718-BUCK (2825) to order yours today.

During both games this weekend Bucks fans will be treated to a special guest performance live at the LEC. America's Got Talent Finalist Butterscotch will be on hand entertaining the crowd during the intermissions.

Butterscotch's combined talents of beat-boxing, singing, and playing the piano won the hearts of fans during her run to the finals on the hit TV show.

The Rage are led by Cullaton, who helped Captain Laredo to their two CHL Championships. Last season Cullaton was an MVP finalist, and finished with a career-high 92 points. Rocky Mountain had the best record in the league at the all-star break, but missed the post-season after struggling in the last two months of the year.

The Mudbugs are coming off back-to-back Governor's Cup titles, representing the best regular season record in the CHL.

Bossier saw different results once again in the playoffs however, where they were swept by the Texas Brahmas in four straight games.

The meeting with the Mudbugs on Saturday will re-kindle a rivalry that dates back to the 2004 President's Cup Finals, where the Bucks won their first of two championship series' against Bossier.

Laredo won the 2004 Cup in seven games, while hoisting the 2006 Cup in five games.

Season ticket prices stayed the same as they were last season, starting at just $34 a month (including playoffs). Call 718-BUCK (2825), or visit the LEC to speak to a Bucks ticket representative.
