
Sea Dogs win their 5th straight at home

(Portland, ME) - The Sea Dogs (67-57) scored six times over three innings to beat the Harrisburg Senators (68-60), 6-5, Saturday night in front of a sell-out crowd of 7,368 at Hadlock Field. Portland has won the first two games of the series and improved their winning streak to five straight games - their first at home this season.
Dustin Richardson (7-7) earned his first win since July 12, working five innings on four runs (three earned) and four hits. Richardson walked three but fanned seven, including the side in the third inning. Bobby Brownlie (8-3) suffered the loss for Harrisburg, yielding nine hits and six runs over five frames. Brownlie walked two (Anderson and Reddick) but they both scored.
T.J. Large relieved Haigwood in the 9th inning and walked Javi Herrera and issued a single to Ian Desmond. Large fanned Mike Daniel but allowed an RBI single to Seth Bynum and walked pinch-hitter Garrett Guzman. Marvin Lowrance worked the count to 3-0 but Large came back to strike out Lowrance and earn his first Double-A save
Portland reliever Chad Rhoades was activated from the disabled list before the game and worked two scoreless innings, fanning two and issuing a walk. Rhoades earned his 7th hold of the season to preserve the win. Daniel Haigwood took over in the eighth inning and recorded four outs to notch his third hold of the year.
The âDogs snapped a 3-3 tie with two runs in the third inning off Brownlie. Jorge Jimenez led off the frame with a double and scored on Bryan Pritz's 2-base hit to right-center field. Aaron Bates knocked in the 5th run of the game with a run-scoring double play ball. Iggy Suarez gave the Sea Dogs a 6-3 lead with a 2-out RBI double in the fourth inning - his 47th RBI of the season.
Aaron Bates kicked off the scoring with a solo homer to start the second inning - his second homer in as many days. Lars Anderson followed with a walk and scored on a 2-run shot by Josh Reddick. Reddick has 5 home runs on the season and four in his last six starts.
Harrisburg came right back to tie the game at three, scoring all three runs the same way Portland did in the second inning. Mike Daniel clobbered a 2-run homer and Seth Bynum followed with a solo homer over the batter's eye in center field.
