
Sea Dogs win 3-2 in OT

The Rivalry Cup battle continued Saturday at Harbour Station as the Saint John Sea Dogs edged the Moncton Wildcats 3-2 after only 12 seconds of overtime.
Saint John took the lead at 3:38 of the first on Jonathan Huberdeau's goal from Tomas Jurco. The Wildcats tied it at 11:42 with Alex Saulnier getting his first of the season from brother Allain and David Savard. Matt Bissonnette took a perfect pass from Kirill Kabanov at 18:42 to put the Cats in front 2-1.
Late in the second period, Gabriel Bourret of the Sea Dogs evened the game at 2 all at 17:40.
Neither team scored in the third period but the Sea Dogs took the victory when Mike Hoffman got the winner at the 12 second mark.
Shots on goal were 33-27 in favor of the Sea Dogs. On the power-play, the Wildcats went 0 for 4 while the Sea Dogs were 0 for 7.
Sea Dogs goaltender Marc-Antoine Gelinas was star number 3, Matt Brown of the Wildcats was the second star and Tomas Jurco of Saint John was star number one.
