
Sea Dogs Walk-Off with 3-2 Win

Portland, Maine - Tyler Dearden racked up three hits, including a walk-off RBI single, helping the Portland Sea Dogs (7-6) takedown the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (4-8) in comeback fashion 3-2 on Friday at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine.
The Rumble Ponies deposited the first run of the game in the top of the first against Sea Dogs starter Brandon Walter. After the first two batters of the inning struck out, Johneshwy Fargas singled to center. Jeremy Vasquez drove him in with a single to center, giving the Rumble Ponies their first lead of the game, 1-0.
Portland responded in the bottom of the fifth against Binghamton reliever Nate Fisher. Wil Dalton led off the inning with a solo home run off the foul pole in left. It was Dalton's first homer of the season and tied the game at 1-1.
Binghamton regained the lead in the top of the sixth inning with Walter still on the mound. Fargas led off with a base hit to center and advanced to second on a stolen base. Vasquez moved him to third with a deep fly ball to right. Matt Winaker drove in Fargas with a single to center, giving the Rumble Ponies the lead back, 2-1.
In the bottom of the ninth, the Sea Dogs were able to tie up the game against Rumble Ponies reliever Bryce Montes De Oca. Elih Marrero walked to lead off the inning and Christian Koss advanced him to third on a base hit. Izzy Wilson grounded out to first, and Marrero beat the throw home, tying the game 1-1 and forcing extra innings.
In extra innings, Portland pitcher Frank German was able to keep Binghamton off the scoreboard, giving the offense a chance in the bottom of the tenth inning. Devlin Granberg pinch ran for Kole Cottam as the runner placed a second base. Tyler Dearden singled, driving in Granberg, walking off the Rumble Ponies 3-2.
German (3-0) tossed 2.0 perfect innings, striking out four and earning his third win of the season. Trey Cobb (0-1) did not record an out while surrendering one unearned run on one hit in his first loss of the year.
The Sea Dogs and Rumble Ponies play the penultimate game of a six-game series on Saturday with a 1:00 PM ET first pitch. Portland sends RHP Brayan Bello (1-1, 1.80 ERA) to the mound against Binghamton RHP Alec Kisena (1-0, 4.26 ERA).
