ENOUGH OF NH, BRING ON CT!: The Portland Sea Dogs took 2 of 3 from New Hampshire in the first series of their homestand...Now, the Sea Dogs are in the midst of a five game series with the Connecticut Defenders...This marks the second time the Dogs and Defenders have played a five game series...The Sea Dogs took the first game of the series yesterday, and have now won 4 of 5 versus the Defenders.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Felix Diaz (2-0) earned his 2nd victory in as many starts, with Portland's 5-3 win over Connecticut last night. Diaz fired six solid innings, striking out eight and allowing only two runs. Diaz and the Sea Dogs fell behind 2-0 in the game, after John Bowker ripped a solo homer in the 1st and Randy Ruiz scored on a wild pitch in the 4th. The Sea Dogs would storm back, scoring two in the 5th, three in the 6th and two in the 7th. Portland plated two unearned runs in the 5th. Jay Johnson picked up an RBI single in the frame. Andrew Pinckney, Bryan Pritz and Dusty Brown hit three consecutive doubles in the 7th to account for Portland's final runs. The Sea Dogs bullpen combined to throw three innings, allowing only one run. Kyle Jackson pitched two innings, giving up one run and striking out four. Jose Vaquedano pitched a scoreless 9th, striking out the final batter of the game. Garrett Broshuis (2-12) allowed five runs (three earned) in 5 and 1/3 innings...Jeff Natale collected three hits out of the leadoff spot, pacing the Sea Dogs 12-hit attack.

FEELING IT: After yesterday's win, Felix Diaz is now 2-0 with the Portland Sea Dogs...Diaz struck out 8 batters for the second straight start...In his debut against Binghamton on 7/21, Diaz gave up two runs on two hits in five innings...Yesterday, he went six innings, surrendering six hits and two runs...These starters: Andrew Dobies, Charlie Zink, Michael Bowden and Justin Masterson all started the season 2-0 for Portland.

LINK FROM PORTLAND TO BOSTON IS PAWTUCKET: Jed Lowrie and Lincoln Holdzkom have been promoted to Pawtucket...Zach Borowiak returns to Portland after a stint with the PawSox...Lowrie is presently hitting .297, and leads the team in hits (100), doubles (31), triples (7), home runs (8), RBI (49), and walks (65)...Holdzkom is 4-1 with a 3.47 ERA in 30 games...Borowiak was 2-17, hitting .118 with 1 RBI in eight games with Pawtucket.
