Breakfast At The Ballpark To Kick Off Home Run Week
July 27, 2007 - Eastern League (EL1)
Altoona Curve News Release
ALTOONA- The Curve will host Breakfast at the Ballpark on Tuesday, July 31st, from 6-9 AM at Blair County Ballpark to kick off WTAJ-TV 10 Home Run Week. The breakfast, which will be held on the main ticket plaza at BCB, is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted to aid the Mike Coolbaugh Memorial Fund, which has been established to benefit the family of former Tulsa Drillers coach Mike Coolbaugh, who was killed in a tragic on-field accident earlier this week.
Breakfast at the Ballpark will feature Uncle Charley's Sausage, coffee, donuts and other breakfast delights, and will also include activities geared towards kids and families. There will be guided tours of Blair County Ballpark, photo opportunities with Curve mascots and kids coloring activities.
The Curve will be accepting donations at Breakfast at the Ballpark and also throughout the week during Curve home games at the Kinetico Customer Service Booth to benefit the Mike Coolbaugh Memorial Fund. Coolbaugh, 35, died suddenly Sunday after he was struck in the head by a line-drive during the Drillers' game against the Arkansas Travelers. The Mike Coolbaugh Memorial Fund will benefit his surviving family, wife, Mandy, and two young sons, Joseph and Jacob. Mandy Coolbaugh is expecting a third child in early October.
Home Run Week will coincide with the Curve's seven-game, six-day homestand July 31st-August 5th. Tickets for the seven games comprising Home Run Week are still available and can be purchased at the Curve Ticket Office weekdays from 9 AM-5 PM and Saturday from 10 AM-2 PM. Tickets can also be purchased by calling the Curve at (877) 99-CURVE or visiting www.altoonacurve.com.
