The Sea Dogs open up a four-game series in three days with the Trenton Thunder on Friday night at Arm & Hammer Park...Tomorrow is a day/night doubleheader.

NEWS AND NOTES

VISIT TO NEW JERSEY : The Sea Dogs open up a four-game series in three days on Friday night against the Trenton Thunder (Yankees affiliate) at Arm & Hammer Park...With a win in the next three games, Portland will clinch their best May in franchise history, topping the 1995 team (included current Sea Dogs Manager Billy McMillon) that went 18-11 (.621)...'Dogs and Thunder split a two-game set in Trenton on April 8-9, and will play a day/night doubleheader on Saturday.

7-6-2-5-4 : Portland salvaged the final game of their three-game series with the New Britain Rock Cats, 2-1 on Thursday morning...The game ended on a crazy double play, started on a double down the left-field line by RF Reynaldo Rodriguez...Pinch-runner A.J. Petterson slipped rounding third at was out going back to third base...After that out, 3B Derrik Gibson fired down to second base to nap Rodriguez and end the game...Portland scored both runs in the first inning on run-scoring doubles by 1B Stefan Welch and DH Sean Coyle...LHP Henry Owens tossed seven scoreless frames to earn the win.
